Selection Process
Stage 1: Preliminary Examination (Objective Type)
This is an initial screening/qualifying test conducted to shortlist candidates for the next stage.
Format: Objective type with Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs).
Syllabus Focus: General Knowledge, Current Affairs, English Language, and relevant Constitutional, Civil, and Criminal Laws.
Negative Marking: There is a negative marking of 25% (0.25 marks) for every incorrect answer.
Minimum Qualifying Marks: Candidates generally need to secure at least 45% marks (for reserved categories/PwD) or the applicable general category cut-off to qualify for the Mains.
Stage 2: Mains Examination (Written/Descriptive Type)
Format: Descriptive written papers.
Viva-Voce (Interview)
This is the final stage of the selection process.
Candidates who successfully clear the Preliminary Exam are called for the descriptive-style written examination.
